Along the desert plains
Following footsteps blind

Lies still in silence
Unsceptered, and his eyes are closed
Does he wander among the stars?
With head bowed, I hear the earth
The ancient mother, holds me
No force shall wake me from this sleep
But for the kindly hand of love
Bent low and slow embraced
Pay reverence to thy spirit
Pure Goddess of this infant world
With beauty and power unfurl
Sorrow doesn't mark the look
No sign of fear in those eyes
The wayward clouds of evil's touch
Where beats the human heart
Can mortals feel such pain?
With parted lips she spoke to me
Those solemn words I cannot bear
Such mourning I shall never speak
The early Gods know not of this
The old Kings are blinded
Your Heaven is not upon this earth
No Gods are known upon this land
The oceans roar their titan's cries
To scorch and burn, and rule them all

Subconscious delusion of grander ambition
Sailing for unknown waters
To distant islands of conscious thought
Where objectivity suffers
Lost in the fog of confusion
No celestial body to guide you

We bury our true selves

I knew my presence would not be welcome
But it cut deep, along with your manner
This was neither first nor last in disregard
A maternal crutch tempered by paternal heart
The feminine drew your soul to blackness
Naked in feigned shock, teased by her
She fed me lies and was gone by morning
Three quarters gone and lost in my journey
No memory of what might have transpired
You say you want space on the hunt
But you come running when bruised and alone
I tried so hard to see past the veneer
But there was no depth to be found
Sometimes what you see is all that is there
And you, my friend, are transparent
Alone I walk on your grounds
How many years has it been?
Sometimes I wonder if you're just a figment
Of an imagination trapped in reality
The pictures show smiles hiding anger
A trapped bird waiting to be freed
Once the cage was opened you felt betrayed
When the open sky promised a better world

Hyperion's word; the creeping agony
A sleepy portal to my grave
This planet of fire, whereon he rode
But ever among, the glancing cries
Now lost among, the stars rejoice
Of stone and pillor, night and day unite
The hunger
The pain
The unending
The beauty
The eternal
The ungiving
The splendour
The symmetry
